Built in partnership with Sera Driver Development / KartClass — led by David Sera, Australia's most successful kart racer.

Your data.
Your advantage.

Apex turns your AiM MyChron telemetry into championship-level coaching — corner by corner.

Beta / early access — limited places. Built for Australian kart racers, Cadet 9 to KZ2.

The Apex trackside AI Coach on a phone: a session summary for lap 6 against the best lap saying most time was lost at Turn 1 Entry, a main-focus instruction to brake earlier and release progressively into the turn, and a Biggest Opportunity card marking Turn 1 Entry as 0.111 seconds lost.
The trackside AI Coach, on the surface a driver actually uses between sessions.

Most drivers don't lack speed. They lack consistency.

One quick lap proves you can do it. The other seven laps are where the championship goes. Most families don't have an engineer in the pits to tell them which corner keeps moving — so Apex does that job, every session, from the data your logger already records.

How it works

Three steps. That's it.

  1. 01

    Upload

Plug in your MyChron, export your XRK file, and upload it to Apex. Takes less than a minute.

  2. 02

    Analyse

Apex processes your telemetry and breaks down every lap, every corner, every data point. You'll see a complete picture of your session instantly.

  3. 03

    Improve

Ask a question, review your corner analysis, check your tyre pressures, compare against your last session. Take what you've learned to the next time on track.

Coaching, on tap

Your race engineer. Every session. Every corner.

Ask Apex anything about your driving in plain English and get a specific, data-backed answer — grounded in your own laps and SDD's championship coaching, not generic tips off YouTube.

You ask

"Why am I slow through Turn 4?"

Apex answers

"You're braking 1.5 metres early and rolling too little entry speed — carry another 3 km/h and trail off the brake later."

  • Specific, not generic — every answer references your laps, your kart, your track.
  • Findings you can trust — a rules-based engine ranks your biggest time losses objectively, before any AI writes a word. Session findings are free and cost no AI credits.
  • A prioritised to-do list — the money corners to fix next, in order of lap time on the table.
  • Coaching that has memory — conversations are saved and can be tied to a session or event.

A coach's debrief, not a chart: the biggest opportunity, why it happened, and what to change next lap.
Apex Turn Analysis for Turn 1 Entry: 0.111 seconds lost against the best lap, tiles reading sector T1 Entry, time loss and late braking, a Biggest Loss Area card, a traffic-light track map, a turn telemetry trace comparing the best lap with lap 6, and entry, apex and exit verdicts reading slightly late, on line and clean.

Session, sector & corner analysis

See exactly where the time is hiding.

Apex breaks every session down to the corner and tells you the truth: your best lap, the lap you could have done, and the two or three corners costing you the most.

There is a difference between "I was slow" and "I lose +0.111s braking too late into Turn 1". Apex works at the second level — down to the micro-sector: the entry, apex and exit of a single corner — and it compares your laps to your laps, so the target is always one you have already driven.

  • A concrete target — your theoretical-best lap is your fastest version of every corner, stitched together. Not a guess.
  • The exact metre — a predictive delta shows where a lap slips away, not just that it did.
  • Your learning corner — per-segment consistency finds the place you are least repeatable, which is the fastest time to find.
  • Measured, not felt — brake and accel zones give entry and exit speeds, brake distance, decel-g and time to speed.
  • Purple Sector — your worst corners ranked across a whole meeting, so you know what to drill on Sunday.

The coaching behind it

Why you should believe the advice.

"There's a lot of noise in karting. Everyone has an opinion. What I like about Apex is that it cuts through all of that and shows you what's actually happening on track — corner by corner, backed by your own data. We've made sure the coaching it gives is the same advice I'd give trackside. The difference is, Apex can do it for every session, whether I'm there or not."

Sera Driver Development contributed real-world karting knowledge that shapes how Apex's coaching engine responds — so the advice reflects what a seasoned coach would actually say trackside, not a textbook answer. That knowledge is a curated coaching library: driving technique, chassis setup, tyre management, weather, data analysis, track knowledge, fitness, mental strategy and the rules. It is retrieved per question and answered against your own laps.

Advanced & experimental analytics

Analysis normally reserved for professional teams.

Beneath the clean coaching sits a data-engineer-grade analytics engine — vehicle dynamics, energy physics, signal processing.

Everything is labelled honestly. Proven metrics run in the core suite; genuinely experimental ones are badged as experimental in the product, so you always know which numbers are grounded. That is the opposite of what a hype page does, and it is why a coach with a laptop can trust the rest of it.

  • Themed formula packs — roughly ~73 research-grade formulas across 11 packs: advanced consistency, vehicle dynamics and hysteresis, braking and traction, tyre evolution, engine health, energy physics, statistical fingerprinting, racing-line clustering.
  • Build your own views — custom math channels and saved report layouts, ready every time you open a session.
  • Grounded in your machine — per-kart calibration means the physics reflects the kart you actually race.
  • Diagnose the kart, not just the driver — frequency spectrum and edge counts per channel find vibration and noise.

Every channel your logger recorded, compared lap against lap, without a laptop full of desktop software.

Trackside & workshop

Thirty seconds in the pit bay. Two hours at the kitchen table.

The Apex sessions library on a phone: search, sort and filter controls, an All scope chip, and fourteen sessions grouped by date, each card carrying a sector-coloured track map, the circuit name, the date, the lap count and the best lap time.

Trackside — a phone surface, on purpose

Bright sunlight, gloves, one hand, thirty seconds between sessions. Big numerals, high contrast, actions in the thumb zone, almost no typing. Every trackside page is built for a handset, and the trackside tab bar puts your sessions, your coach, your tyres and your setups one tap apart.

Workshop — the deep session, later

At home on a desktop: multi-channel charts, lap and session comparison overlays, GPS track maps, the synced video player and the full 85-field setup builder. The same data, the same colours, the room to dig.

Apex installs to your phone like an app — no store, no download.

Four visual themes, metric or imperial units, and signalling that never relies on colour alone.

The rest of the platform

Everything else Apex does.

Apex onboard video on a phone: a video card for a 0:50.391 lap at Ipswich Kart Club, with a player and a Watch with telemetry control beneath it.

Maps, traces & synced onboard video

Watch the corner. Read the data. Same moment.

Your SmartyCam footage runs beside a live trace and a GPS map, with a ghost dot of your best lap on the same piece of track. Click any point on the trace to jump the video there.

  • Race your own best lap — ghost dot and delta bar.
  • Colour your racing line by any channel; recolour to compare time.
  • Traction circle and every MyChron channel, no desktop app.

Telemetry upload & session library

Upload and go. Apex does the rest.

Drop in your MyChron files — one, or a whole race weekend at once — and Apex parses, checks and organises everything into clean, browsable sessions in seconds.

  • A whole weekend in one action, auto-grouped into events.
  • A preview step flags a wrong date or the wrong track before it saves.
  • Compare up to 4 sessions side by side.

Setups & tuning

Change one thing. Never lose your baseline.

A complete digital kart setup — every chassis tunable — with a three-tier cascade so you can tweak one session without rebuilding a thing.

  • Track default, then event override, then session override. The baseline is never touched.
  • Class-aware fields from Cadet to KZ, with auto gear ratio.
  • Your whole garage, each kart with a default dry and wet setup.
The Apex tyre pressure calculator on a phone: a recommended cold start pressure of 11.6, 11.8, 11.3 and 11.4 PSI at the four corners, each marked Recommended, around a kart diagram.
